Bloom hopes 'it works out' between Red Sox, JBJ

Colomé is coming off an outstanding 2020 season with the Chicago White Sox in which he posted a 0.81 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 21 appearances. The 32-year-old spent the first six years of his MLB career in Tampa Bay -- while Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom was in the Rays front office -- then played one season with the Seattle Mariners before joining the White Sox in 2019.

Boston recently signed right-hander Matt Andriese to a one-year contract, but there's no doubt more needs to be done to improve the pitching staff ahead of the 2021 campaign. Adding a reliable bullpen arm like Colomé would be a step in the right direction.
