MLB trade deadline winners, losers 2019: Analyzing best, worst moves

The Boston Red Sox did nothing at Wednesday's MLB trade deadline to upgrade their flawed roster and put themselves in a strong position to reach the postseason.

They weren't the only World Series contender to disappoint at the deadline, though. 

The rival New York Yankees also failed to make an impact move even though their pitching has weaknesses that could spell trouble in October. The Minnesota Twins were another division leader that underwhelmed. 

There were a few teams that made bold moves to contend right now, most notably the Houston Astros, who took advantage of the market and added an elite starting pitcher in Zack Greinke.
