MLB Twitter account trolls Tony Massarotti over J.D. Martinez

Tony Massarotti wasn't a big J.D. Martinez fan. At least not in the offseason.

The 'Felger & Mazz' co-host lusted after Giancarlo Stanton, not Martinez, and -- in this toned-down version of his argument -- explained why he felt Martinez would be a risky signing:

On the radio, he was far more . . . um . . . emphatic about his distaste for Martinez.

Well, of course, it was the Yankees who traded for Stanton and the Red Sox who signed Martinez, much to Mazz's dismay. And when Stanton hit two home runs on Opening Day, this is what he had to say:

Needless to say, this hot take has come back to scorch Mazz rather nicely: Martinez is hitting .333/.404/.667 with 38 home runs and 106 RBI and the Red Sox are running away with the A.L. East. And people -- including MLB and the Red Sox themselves -- have noticed:

Felger & Mazz's producer, Jimmy Stewart, hat-tipped the responsible party:

Even Alex Cora seemed to get into the act after the game:

And Tony, to his credit, is a good sport about it:
