MLBPA votes against MLB's 60-game season proposal

Stop us if you've heard this before: Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association have failed to come to an agreement.

On Monday, the MLBPA voted 33-5 against the league's latest proposal for a 60-game season. They released the following statement after the vote:

So, now what?

MLB responded with a statement honoring the terms of its March 26 agreement with the MLBPA. Before implementing an official schedule, the league asks that the Players Association communicates before 5 p.m. Tuesday whether players can return to camp before July 1, and whether the Players Association will agree on health and safety protocols.

If and when the season resumes, teams will hold spring training camps in their own cities following the recent COVID-19 outbreaks in Florida and Arizona.
