Nathan Eovaldi on Red Sox: ‘It's going to be real hard to leave there if it doesn't work out'

Nathan Eovaldi's postseason performance has already become Red Sox legend.

His six-inning relief appearance in the marathon that was Game 3 of the World Series is something no Red Sox fan or player will ever forget.

Eovaldi is now a free agent, and while everyone would like to see the hard-throwing lefty back next season, his postseason heroics may have priced himself out of Boston's range.

Eovaldi, for one, is appreciative of the time he was able to spend on this championship team.

“A lot of guys are going to come back to that team. I enjoyed my time over there a lot," said Eovaldi on MLB Network Radio this week. "When I got traded over there they made me feel right at home right away.

"Then doing everything I did in the postseason, the fans, they just showed me so much love and support, it’s definitely going to be hard to leave there if it doesn’t work out."

Eovaldi said he hasn't given much thought to his free agency otherwise, simply stating that he's going to trust his agency to get the deal that's best for him.

Whether Eovaldi returns in a Red Sox uniform or sporting a different team's colors, he'll be beloved in Boston forever.
