No Angel Hernandez, but Joe West is crew chief for Red Sox-Astros ALCS

No, Angel Hernandez isn't working the ALCS, so that may cut down on the replay reviews, but Joe West - another umpire who is no stranger to controversy - is the chief of the crew that will work the Red Sox-Astros series.

Here's the full crew and their list of postseason experience.

"Cowboy" Joe has had plenty of run-ins with players and managers. He's worked more than 5,000 games and became No. 2 on the all-time games list this past August. Still, he's perhaps best known by Red Sox fans as the crew chief who met with his fellow umps in Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS (the Curt Schilling "bloody sock game" against the Yankees) to get the calls correct on Mark Bellhorn's home run that struck a fan in left field (originally ruled a double) and Alex Rodriguez's slapping the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's glove (originally scoring Derek Jeter and putting A-Rod at second base).

Game 1 is Saturday night at Fenway Park.
