Rafael Devers joins elite company with 2019 numbers vs. Blue Jays

With their series vs. the Red Sox wrapped up, the Blue Jays are happy to not have to see Rafael Devers in the batter's box for a while.

Devers is having a monster year, and much of his damage this season has been done against Toronto. In fact, the 22-year-old set a record on Wednesday for most RBI in a single season vs. the Jays with 25. In Thursday's game, he blasted a three-run home run to make it 28 RBI.

The homer marked Devers' eighth of the year against Toronto. With his eight homers and 28 RBI, Devers joins some legendary company. He's one of only five players ever to have 8+ HR and 28 RBI vs. a single opponent in one season. Mel Ott, Hal Trosky, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle are the others.

Not a bad group to be in.

Devers will look to keep his hot streak going this weekend as the Red Sox begin a three-game series vs. the lowly Orioles.
