Tomase: Sale follows clutch start with refreshing postgame honesty
Motter has bounced around the major leagues -- as well as overseas -- since making his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016. He has since played for the Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins, and Rockies. The 31-year-old has played every position on the diamond but catcher.
In 13 games with Colorado this season, Motter slashed .227/.150/.377 with three hits in 20 at-bats.
The Red Sox have a whopping eight players on the COVID-related injured list heading into Thursday's series finale vs. the Rays. First pitch for the matchup is set for 7:10 p.m. ET.
