UPDATE: The Red Sox announced Price left due to "flu-like symptoms."

In a mid-game interview with FOX, manager Alex Cora said David Price has been battling the flu for four days and his progression for Saturday's start "wasn't the right one." The southpaw did not suffer any injury to his arm.

ORIGINAL STORY: David Price was removed from his Saturday night start vs. the Astros after only 15 pitches due to an apparent injury.

The left-hander faced three batters before Red Sox manager Alex Cora visited the mound to check on him. After a brief discussion, Cora pulled Price and replaced him with reliever Colten Brewer.

Price, whose velocity took a noticeable dip, was seen wincing after a pitch to Astros outfielder Michael Brantley.

Price returned Monday from a two-week stint on the injured list with left elbow tendinitis.

More to come.
