Red Sox highlights: Mookie Betts blasts first home run of 2019 season

Boston Red Sox star Mookie Betts wasn't going to be kept inside the ballpark for long.

The reigning American League MVP hit his first home run of the 2019 season Sunday, blasting a solo shot to left field off Seattle Mariners reliever Nick Rumbelow in the fourth inning at T-Mobile Park. The homer trimmed Seattle's lead to 10-7.

Check out Betts' home run in the video below.

Betts was just 1-for-10 over his last two games entering Sunday. His performance in the series finale could be a catalyst for a strong finish to Boston's 11-game road trip to begin the season. The Red Sox certainly will need an improved Betts to overcome the early struggles of their starting pitchers.
