Red Sox' Michael Chavis reflects on hectic MLB call-up on anniversary

One year ago today, Michael Chavis got the call to The Show.

The Boston Red Sox were in the middle of a three-game series vs. the Rays in Tampa Bay when Chavis was promoted to the big league roster on April 19, 2019. Needless to say, it was a day Chavis won't ever forget -- not only because it marked his first day as a major leaguer, but also because of all that transpired on his way to Tropicana Field.

Chavis reminisced about his MLB call-up with a pair of tweets detailing just how hectic of a day it was.

In his MLB debut the following day, Chavis ripped a clutch pinch-hit double.

The 24-year-old went on to hit .254 with 18 home runs and 58 RBI in 95 games.

If and when the 2020 season finally gets underway, Chavis will have a significant role with the Red Sox, presumably splitting time between first and second base. He'll also look to add some pop in the lineup behind teammates Rafael Devers, J.D. Martinez, and Xander Bogaerts.
