Jeter Downs appears ready for a bounce-back year in the Boston Red Sox' farm system.

The organization's No. 5 ranked prospect, per SoxProspects.com, is on a tear in the Arizona Fall League. He crushed a grand slam Monday for the Scottsdale Scorpions, marking his fifth home run in his last six games.

Downs was promoted to Triple-A Worcester during the 2021 season and couldn't quite find his groove at the plate. The 23-year-old belted 14 homers but hit just .190 with 131 strikeouts in 99 games.

The middle infielder's Arizona Fall League performance is what Chaim Bloom and Co. expected out him when they acquired him as part of the 2020 trade that sent Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Between Double-A Tulsa and High-A Rancho Cucamonga in 2019, he hit .276 with 24 homers and a .888 OPS.

If Downs can duplicate those numbers next season in Worcester, it likely won't be long before he makes his MLB debut.
