The first Red Sox lineup of the 2019 season is set.

On Wednesday, Sox manager Alex Cora announced the official lineup for Opening Day vs. the Mariners. Here's how it looks. . .

1. Andrew Benintendi, LF
2. Mookie Betts, RF
3. Rafael Devers, 3B
4. J.D. Martinez, DH
5. Xander Bogaerts, SS
6. Mitch Moreland, 1B
7. Eduardo Nunez, 2B
8. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
9. Christian Vazquez, C

The biggest takeaways are Nunez starting over Dustin Pedroia at second base and Moreland getting the nod at first. The Red Sox continue to be careful with Pedroia's knee, and Pearce is on the IL to begin the season due to a calf injury suffered during spring training. Vazquez starting over Blake Swihart, who enjoyed a great spring at the plate, is notable as well.

Chris Sale will take the mound for the Red Sox in their first game of the season. The first pitch will take place at 7:08 p.m. ET. on Thursday.
