The Boston Red Sox added another bullpen arm to the mix as they prepare for the final full month of the regular season.
According to MLB.com's transactions page, Boston signed relief pitcher Michael Feliz to a minor league contract on Saturday. The right-hander will report to Triple-A Worcester.

Feliz, 28, was released by the Cincinnati Reds earlier this week. He has appeared in only 16 games this season due to two stints on the injured list. A right elbow sprain has kept the seven-year veteran off the big-league mound since June 6. In those appearances with the Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates, Feliz allowed 14 runs in 14 1/3 innings (8.79 ERA).
Feliz spent the first three seasons of his MLB career with the Houston Astros, including 2017 when Red Sox manager Alex Cora served as Houston's bench coach.
Boston likely was drawn to his impressive 30 percent strikeout rate for his career, though both his control and injury history have been his downfall. Overall, it's a low-risk, potentially high-reward deal for a club looking for any edge it can get in the midst of a playoff race.
