Red Sox vs. Athletics lineups: Brock Holt replaces Xander Bogaerts at shortstop

The Red Sox's starting pitching was the main issue in their first series of the season against the Seattle Mariners, but in Oakland it's been Boston's lineup that has faltered.

The Red Sox have been shut out in back-to-back games at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, most recently in a 1-0 loss Tuesday night. The Red Sox scored 24 runs in four games versus the Mariners, but the Athletics have been remarkably effective silencing Boston's talented hitters.

The Red Sox will send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound. He gave up eight hits, six runs (all earned), two walks with three strikeouts in a loss to the Mariners last week. He will be opposed by Athletics starter Marco Estrada, who has a 2.45 ERA in 11 innings over two starts this season.

Estrada has enjoyed plenty of success against Red Sox players, too.

In lineup news, Blake Swihart will start behind the plate and bat eighth for Boston. Brock Holt will start at shortstop and bat seventh in place of Xander Bogaerts. Bogaerts fouled a ball off his ankle in the ninth inning of Tuesday's game.

Here are the lineups for both teams.
