It was a rough outing for left-hander Martin Perez, who allowed six runs on eight hits in four innings pitched. Rafael Devers was the only bright spot on the night for Boston as the young third baseman notched an RBI double, the 100th double of his MLB career.
Nationals ace Max Scherzer looked like his Cy Young self, striking out 11 Sox hitters and allowing only one run in six innings. Juan Soto, Howie Kendrick, and Josh Harrison each launched homers for Washington, and the speedy Trea Turner knocked in three RBI.
FINAL SCORE: Washington Nationals 10, Boston Red Sox 2
