Red Sox vs. Rays lineups: J.D. Martinez out, Mitch Moreland in

Share

The Red Sox begin a three-game series against the second-place Rays on Friday night.

On the mound will be right-hander Rick Porcello, who's coming off a less-than-stellar start against the Yankees in which he allowed five runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. Sandy León will call the game behind the plate.

J.D. Martinez is replaced by Eduardo Nuñez at the designated hitter spot after exiting Thursday's game with back spasms. Struggling rookie Michael Chavis will get a day off as well, with Mitch Moreland being activated from the injured list and starting at first base.
