Relive the final out of the Red Sox' 2018 World Series-clinching victory

A perfect ending to the Red Sox' storybook season.

Chris Sale took the mound for the ninth inning and struck out the side to make the Red Sox 2018 World Series champions. Sale put the final nail in the coffin with a strikeout that brought noted villain Manny Machado to his knees.

Gregory Polanco honors Red Sox legend David Ortiz with awesome custom cleats

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz has received many prayers, well-wishes and messages of support from athletes in all different sports since he was shot in the Dominican Republic on June 9, and one Major League Baseball player took the time to honor Big Papi with special cleats.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco, who like Ortiz was born in the Dominican Republic, recently paid tribute to Ortiz with custom cleats.

Ortiz was shot in the back in Santo Domingo on June 9 and has undergone two surgeries, one in the Dominican Republic and one at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was still recovering at MGH as of late last week, and his wife, Tiffany, has given multiple statements on his condition since he returned to Boston.

Police are still investigating the shooting and any potential motives of the suspects involved.
