Alex Verdugo is a huge fan of Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz.

The 24-year-old, who the Red Sox acquired in the deal that sent Mookie Betts and David Price to the Los Angeles Dodgers, paid tribute to Ortiz during Tuesday night's game. Verdugo wore custom-made cleats with "Big Papi" written on the heel.

Pretty awesome.

This isn't the first time Verdugo has expressed his appreciation for the former Red Sox designated hitter. Shortly after joining the Red Sox in spring training, Verdugo said he'd give Ortiz "the biggest hug" when he met him, and he followed through with that promise.

Considering how well Verdugo has played through his first 20 games with Boston, chances are Ortiz is a big fan of him too.
