WATCH: Sox prospect Jeter Downs crushes two homers

Sunday was a day to forget for the Boston Red Sox, who suffered an 18-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park. But it was a much brighter day down on the farm.

The Triple-A Worcester Red Sox took down the Syracuse Mets 13-7 to complete a six-game series sweep. Infielder Jeter Downs -- Boston's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline -- led the way with two home runs in the victory.

Also homering in the WooSox win was outfield prospect Jarren Duran for his 10th of the year.

Downs was acquired in the 2020 trade that sent superstar outfielder Mookie Betts from Boston to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 22-year-old is MLB Pipeline's 38th ranked prospect overall.

Prior to his two-homer day, Downs was in the middle of a 3-for-31 slump over his previous eight games. He now is hitting .220 with five homers, 11 RBI and eight stolen bases.
