Boston sports teams have a history of supporting each other. But Andrew Benintendi isn't caving to the peer pressure.
The Boston Red Sox all wore Bruins gear Wednesday night ahead of their road trip to New York to show their support for the Black and Gold in the Stanley Cup Final.
Yet Benintendi defiantly went against the grain by rocking the threads of the enemy St. Louis Blues, according to The Boston Globe's Pete Abraham.

So, what gives? Unlike Boston Celtics forward and avid Blues fan Jayson Tatum, Benintendi wasn't born in St. Louis.
But a little more digging reveals the outfielder's St. Louis connection: His girlfriend hails from the St. Louis area, and Benintendi actually relocated to the city after leaving the University of Arkansas to spend his offseasons there.
Judging by his social media, the Southwest Ohio native has been a Blues fan for quite some time and even rocked a Ryan Reaves Blues jersey for the Red Sox's final road trip of the 2018 season.
Benintendi may have been the only happy Sox player Wednesday night, as the Blues defeated the Bruins 3-2 in overtime at TD Garden to even the best-of-seven series at 1-1.
