The COVID-19 breakout inside the Boston Red Sox organization continues to grow.

Shortstop Xander Bogaerts was removed from Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays in the second inning due to a positive COVID-19 test, making him the eighth player within the organization to test positive since Friday.

Bogaerts had started the game for the Red Sox, picking up an RBI single in the top of the first inning. He was replaced by Jonathan Arauz prior to the start of the bottom of the second at Tropicana Field.
