The Yankees arrived in Boston in unusual fashion on Thursday ahead of their ALDS matchup vs the Red Sox.
Marriott hotel workers in Boston, San Francisco, and San Jose are striking this week. When the Yankees went to check in at the Ritz-Carlton in Boston, they crossed the union workers' picket line. You can see Yankees players and staff crossing the picket line in the video below.

Brian Lang, President of Unite Here Local 26 (which also represents Fenway Park workers), released a statement on the matter:
“We understand that there’s a very intense rivalry between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox," Lang said. "But quite frankly we’re a little outraged they would take it out on working class people who are out here sacrificing to improve their livelihoods. This is a slap in the face to all Bostonians.”
“We believe just like David Ortiz said, ‘This is our city. We’re proud of it, and who are they to be coming in and spitting on a message that we’re trying to bring through for all the people of Boston?”
