The New England Revolution are making some moves according to the team's latest press release.

According to the release, the Revs have added Kevin Hitchcock as an assistant coach. Hitchcock will replace Rubén Garcia, who is leaving the team to become the Sporting Director of La Liga side SD Huesca.

Hitchcock has nearly two decades of professional coaching experience in "the top flights" of England, Qatar, and India, as well as a "decorated" 18-year playing career according to the release.

Head Coach Brad Friedel thanked coach Ruben for his contributions: "Though his presence will be missed on the training field and in the locker room, this is a tremendous opportunity for him and we wish him nothing but success with Huesca. At the same time, we are pleased to add another accomplished professional to the coaching staff in Kevin, who brings a world-class pedigree as both a coach and as a player to the club."

The press release makes it clear that Hitchcock is not light on experience:

"His experience includes stints with Watford FC (2001-04), Blackburn Rovers FC (2004-08), Manchester City FC (2008-10), Fulham FC (2011), Queens Park Rangers (2012-15), Al Arabi Sports Club (2015-16), and Birmingham City FC (2016-18). Most recently, Hitchcock spent one year as the goalkeepers coach for Indian Super League side Chennaiyin FC."

Friedel himself was named coach following the interim stint of Tom Soehn, and the firing of coach Jay Heaps in 2017.
