Revolution Classics: Taylor Twellman notches hat trick vs. DC United

Until Major League Soccer returns to action, NBC Sports Boston will give New England Revolution fans a chance to get their fix by re-airing some classic games. On Saturday, we'll take a look back at when Taylor Twellman's hat trick led the Revs to a dominant 3-0 win over DC United in 2002.

Taylor Twellman notched three hat tricks during his New England Revolution career. The first of the three occurred Sept. 7, 2002, vs. DC United.

Twellman, a rookie at the time, tallied all three of the Revs' goals in their shutout victory. He'd finish the 2002 campaign with a team-leading 23 goals.

The Revolution went on to play in the MLS Cup that season, but fell to the Los Angeles Galaxy. Still, Twellman's sensational performance and standout rookie season showed there was plenty for Revs Nation to be excited about.
