Celtics Summer League highlights: Nesmith erupts for 33 points

Aaron Nesmith admitted he "didn’t shoot the ball the way (he) wanted to" in the Boston Celtics' 2021 NBA Summer League opener Sunday.

He was a bit more pleased with Tuesday's result.

The second-year wing went off for a game-high 33 points in just 21 minutes Tuesday as Boston cruised to a 107-82 win over the Denver Nuggets in Las Vegas. Nesmith shot 72.2% from the floor (13 for 18) and knocked down 7 of 9 3-pointers, showcasing a quick release and an attacking mindset.

While the Nuggets' Summer League squad isn't exactly elite competition, Nesmith's performance was encouraging. The No. 14 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft shot 52.2% from 3-point range in his final season at Vanderbilt but struggled to find his shooting stroke as a rookie in Boston (37% from three), so if he can rediscover his form at the NBA level, he could be a weapon for Boston off the bench.

Celtics roster reset: Another move coming after Schroder deal?

Check out full highlights from the Celtics' win in the video above. Here are a few other notable plays and performances from Tuesday night in Vegas.

Payton Pritchard flirts with a triple-double

The Celtics' 2020 draft class stole the show, as Pritchard finished with 21 points on 6-for-10 shooting with eight rebounds and 12 assists.

Pritchard paced the C's with 23 points in Sunday's opener against Atlanta and has been Boston's best player in Vegas to date as he continues his momentum from a strong rookie campaign.

Romeo Langford drops the hammer

Langford delivered the best play of the night when he uncorked a monster dunk off a Bruno Fernando pass in the second quarter.

The 21-year-old had a quiet night offensively (eight points on 2-for-4 shooting), but he showcased some serious athleticism on that play.

Yam Madar takes a backseat

After an encouraging effort Sunday, Madar couldn't get it going Tuesday, going scoreless in 16 minutes of play (0-for-3) with just one assist and three turnovers.

While the 20-year-old Israel native came into Summer League with plenty of hype, Tuesday was a reminder that he'll endure some ups and downs as he aims to prove he's NBA material.
