Hunter Renfrow was just being a nice guy. But he gave New England Patriots fans quite the visual this weekend.
The former Clemson wide receiver and NFL draft prospect took some time to sign autographs Saturday after the Tigers' spring game. Among the paraphernalia he signed? A No. 13 Patriots jersey with his name on the back.
First of all: Pretty bold move by this fan to order a custom Renfrow Patriots jersey several weeks before a draft in which New England has made zero promises they'll even consider taking the Clemson product.
But this man's wishful thinking isn't totally misplaced. After all, the Patriots need help at wide receiver, and Renfrow -- a 5-foot-10, 185-pound slot man who's drawn comparisons to Danny Amendola -- could be right in their wheelhouse as a Day 3 option.
And if you believe in serendipity, Renfrow admitted a couple weeks ago he had a dream about being in a meeting room with Tom Brady and added he'd "love to be a Patriot."
Do these bread crumbs actually impact the Patriots' chances of drafting Renfrow? Of course not. But if New England winds up taking him, there will be one very happy recent attendee of Clemson's spring game.
