The Chiefs wasted no time taking action regarding the situation with running back Kareem Hunt.

On Friday, TMZ released a video showing Hunt involved in a physical altercation at a Cleveland hotel with a woman, who he is seen shoving and kicking. The incident occurred in February and no charges were filed.

The NFL responded by placing Hunt on the Commissioner's Exemption list, and the Chiefs opted to cut their star rusher "immediately" and released a statement on the matter:

“Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident involving running back Kareem Hunt. At that time, the National Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue. As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms that fact. We are releasing Kareem immediately.”
