The holdup in the blockbuster Mookie Betts trade has everyone in baseball on edge, including the Major League Baseball Players Association.

On Friday, MLBPA executive director Tony Clark released a statement asking for the deal to "be resolved without further delay."

The delay in the deal is due to the Boston Red Sox's concern over Minnesota Twins pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol's medical records. Boston reportedly is looking to reconfigure the trade to receive additional compensation.

If the situation is resolved, Betts and left-hander David Price would head to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston presumably would get outfielder Alex Verdugo, Graterol, and another Twins prospect in return. Minnesota would receive veteran right-hander Kenta Maeda from L.A.
