Patrick Mahomes finally pulled even with Tom Brady on Sunday -- in one aspect, anyway.
The Kansas City Chiefs topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-31 on NBC's "Sunday Night Football," bringing Mahomes' overall record against Brady to 3-3.
Brady won his first two games against Mahomes as a member of the New England Patriots -- including a victory in the 2018 AFC Championship Game -- and also bested the Chiefs QB in Super Bowl 55 while with the Bucs.

Mahomes has won three of the past four meetings between the superstar quarterbacks, however, and threw three touchdown passes Sunday night to help Kansas City stave off Brady's Bucs.
After the game, Brady and Mahomes shared what very well could be their final midfield handshake, assuming Brady retires within the next two seasons and doesn't face Mahomes' Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
"You look great. Keep it up," Brady told Mahomes in their brief mic'd up meeting.
Brady has been a fan of Mahomes for years dating back to their Patriots-Chiefs battles and heaped more praise on the 27-year-old after Sunday's game.
"I like Patrick a lot. Had a chance to be around him a little bit and obviously think he's a great player," Brady told reporters in his postgame press conference. "He's doing a great job for that team, and he's got a great career ahead of him."
Brady is a fierce competitor and probably doesn't enjoy the fact that he no longer has a head-to-head advantage over Mahomes. But at age 45 and possibly in the final season of his career, the seven-time Super Bowl champion is willing to be a resource for the next generation of star QBs that Mahomes is leading.
"I'm always here to help anybody that I can. Anyone who is looking for advice," Brady added. "I've certainly seen a lot in the game, and I'm always happy to pass on information to others to hopefully see those guys maximize their potential."

In the meantime, Brady will try to get the 2-2 Bucs back on track next Sunday in an NFC South matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
