When Lovie Smith spoke with the media yesterday, he didn't reveal too much information on Jay Cutler's concussion or recovery. But he did say that the Bears were looking backups, which hinted that Cutler could miss the team's upcoming matchup against San Francisco.

On Tuesday, the team re-signed quarterback Josh McCown in the event that their starter isn't ready to return next week. McCown joined the Bears during this year's training camp, but was cut just before the season began.

Last season he completed 35 of 55 passes for 414 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions in his three games (two starts) with the Bears.
