Akiem Hicks calls into radio show and then, somewhat hilariously, promptly hangs up on them

Bears' defensive stud Akiem Hicks called into a local radio station on Tuesday, and friends, things got tense.

Hicks was on the phone with Tom Waddle and Mark Silverman, who host the 'Waddle and Silvy' show on ESPN 1000. Hicks was in the middle of an impassioned speech about riding with the Bears through thick and thin, or something, and this happened:

Waddle tries to be chummy about Hicks' elbow injury – one that put him on IR – and the defensive tackle swatted that joke into the 10th row.

Is that a joke? You think that's a joke? You don't joke about somebody's injury. I'm perfectly respectful, but I'll tell you what: you will not joke about an injury. You have a blessed day, this is the last time I'm on this radio station.

Hicks, a man of his word, then promptly hung up - an objectively hilarious ending to an objectively absurd interview. Was the joke meant to be in poor taste? Probably not! Should you maybe feel the room before joking about someone's very-hurt elbow? Yeah! You should!

Then there was some Twitter fallout, because blegh, of course there was:

We all learned a lesson here tonight. I have absolutely no idea what, but it feels like someone learned something.
