Anthony Miller says his Madden '19 rating ‘will go up as the season goes on'

Chicago Bears rookie WR Anthony Miller was one of several players on the team that was unhappy about his "Madden 19" rating. Miller's was an especially low 74, a number that had him call into question whether the game's developers watched his final season at Memphis.

“I don’t know what they were doing,” Miller said Sunday via the Chicago Tribune. “They must not have watched last season. But I know it’s going to go up as the season goes on.”

Miller has been one of the standout performers through the first few days of training camp, drawing rave reviews from fans in attendance at Bourbonnais for his ability to shake veteran defenders en route to securing passes from Bears quarterbacks.

“You can see he’s a playmaker,” Nagy said of Miller. “He plays with some confidence. As coaches, we said this when we drafted him, you saw the tape, saw that he could make plays, and he plays with a little of that swag. And you never want to take that away. You’ve got to control it."

Nagy would know a thing or two about swag. Tarik Cohen, the dynamic do-it-all second-year running back, recently used the term to describe the Bears' first-year coach.

Miller has an incredible opportunity in front of him, one that probably only he believed would be in his future. His journey to the Bears is the ultimate underdog story and there's no doubt Chicago will embrace with open arms once he starts scoring touchdowns.

“I was a walk-on. Nobody offered me. Now I’m a second-round pick and I’m out here with the Chicago Bears, one of the best organizations in the league, and I couldn’t be more blessed to be here."
