An undrafted rookie free agent out of Florida last offseason, Pineiro was 3-for-3 in one preseason game for the Raiders last season before landing on injured reserve with a groin injury.

In college, he was the Gators all-time leader in career field goal accuracy, hitting 88.4 percent of his kicks. In 2017, he hit 17-of-18 field goals, going 2-for-2 from beyond 50 yards.
Pineiro went somewhat viral for hitting an 81-yard field goal in practice back in 2017, showing plenty of the leg strength the Bears seem to desire in the position.
