Bears All-Decade Team: Devin Hester was simply the best

Bears

The Chicago Bears wrapped up their 100th season of football in disappointing fashion, but the 2010s provided Bears fans with some fun moments and personalities to cheer for.

In this multi-part series, we'll name our Bears All-Decade Team.

We've already covered linebackersdefensive linemenedge defenderscornerbackssafeties , wide receiversquarterbackrunning backs, offensive line and tight ends. Next up: Kick returner:

Kick/Punt returner: Devin Hester
2006-13

One of the greatest playmakers in NFL history, Hester wowed fans at Soldier Field every time he stepped onto the grass. There was always a chance (a pretty good one, too) that he would flip the field in a single touch, if not take a kick or punt return the distance for a touchdown.

He did, after all, do it better than anyone who's ever played the game.

Hester returned 18 kicks (punts and kickoffs) for touchdowns as a Bear, including seven between 2010-13. By the time his career was over, Hester became the NFL's all-time leader in kick-return touchdowns. He even took a missed field goal 108 yards to the house on Nov. 12, 2006 against the New York Giants.

After four Pro Bowls, three first-team All-Pro selections and a spot on the Pro Football Hall of Fame's All-2000s team, it's safe to say Hester was the greatest specialist in Bears history.
