Bears' Allen Robinson could be a trade chip according to Pro Football Focus

If you're a Bears fan that hates Pro Football Focus, this probably isn't the blog for you. And actually if you're a Bears fan that loves Pro Football Focus, this probably isn't the blog for you either.

The folks at PFF published an article on Thursday titled, 'Fantasy Football: Veterans who could be traded from all 32 NFL teams' which is pretty self-explanatory. In it, PFF outlines every Chicago resident's 3rd worst nightmare (behind riding the Red Line after a Cubs game and St. Patrick's Day): trading Allen Robinson. Here's the rationale:

Robinson still has not received a contract offer from the Bears with his deal expiring at the end of the season. That could lead him to play out the season and sign elsewhere. It's hard to blame him — a WR can only put up with poor quarterback play for so long.

If the Bears start the season slowly, wide receiver-needy teams will be calling the Bears for Robinson, and considering the team might be in the market for a quarterback in 2021, it could use all the draft picks it can get.

It ... makes a lot of sense? I'm sorry, it does. That being said, there's still plenty of time for something to get done, and we all know Ryan Pace loves his deadline deals. It's probably not super encouraging that the two sides haven't talked recently, but these things can happen fast. So you don't need to be sending hate mail to every conceivable Ryan Pace email address you can think of just yet.
