Bears among favorites to land franchise QB via trade

Could the Bears finally find their franchise quarterback heading into the 2021 season? According to PointsBet Colorado, the Bears have a decent chance of landing Deshaun Watson this offseason.

Watson is still under contract with the Houston Texans, so they remain the front runners to retain Watson with -125 odds. But rumors that he was unhappy with the organization caused a hullabaloo on Twitter last week. When Bears fans caught wind of the rumor and resurfaced old Watson tweets saying he liked Chicago weather, Watson played along by following a couple of Chicago meteorologists on Twitter.

Currently, the Bears carry +550 odds to trade for Watson— the fifth-shortest in the league. Ahead of the Bears are the Miami Dolphins (+300), New England Patriots (+400) and New York Jets (+450).

This NFL Futures bet is only available on PointsBet’s Colorado site. In Illinois, the only NFL Futures available are Super Bowl winner and No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 draft.

Watson finished the 2020 season with the most passing yards in the league at 4,823. In addition, he completed over 70% of his passes, and threw 33 touchdown passes and seven interceptions.
