The first home game of the season, even though fans were not in attendance, brought the first appearance of Staley Da Bear, who made sure he was masked up in accordance with the city's COVID-19 protocols.

Mitch Trubisky picked up where he left off in Detroit, and completed 13-of-18 passes in the first half for 159 yards, two touchdowns, and a cool 136.1 passer rating.

Trubisky's first touchdown pass of the day went to David Montgomery, who bobbed and weaved past defenders for a 28-yard touchdown reception. Montgomery finished with 127 total yards on 19 touches.

Trubisky and Montgomery meet up in the endzone for a little celebration after their opening-drive touchdown connection put the Bears up 7-0 in the first quarter.

Robert Quinn missed the season opener in Detroit, and made his Bears debut Sunday against the Giants after returing to practice last week. He made an instant impact, sacking Daniel Jones and forcing a fumble on his very first snap as a Bear.

Another first in this game came when Cole Kmet secured his first NFL reception from Trubisky in the second quarter. The Bears' tight ends were quiet overall, with Kmet and Jimmy Graham registering just one catch apiece.

Giants superstar running back Saquon Barkley had to be helped off the field after being awkwardly tackled on the sideline in the second quarter. The Giants reportedly fear a torn ACL, which would be tough news for one of the NFL's brightest young stars.

Rookie wide receiver Darnell Mooney continued to trend upward in Week 2. Mooney caught three passes for 36 yards, including this 16-yard scoring strike from Trubisky late in the second quarter. Mooney appears to have quickly earned a sizable role in Matt Nagy's offense early on.

Mooney, Tarik Cohen, Javon Wims, and Charles Leno Jr. celebrated Mooney's touchdown that put the Bears up 17-0. Mooney said after the game he made sure to collect the ball from his first pro score.

Khalil Mack collected his first sack of the season by taking down Jones in the second quarter. The Bears' main pass-rushing trio of Mack, Robert Quinn, and Akiem Hicks all collected a sack on Sunday afternoon.

Giants defensive back James Bradberry made an excellent play to rip an interception out of Allen Robinson's hands in the fourth quarter. That turnover led to a Giants field goal, which cut the Bears' lead to four.

David Montgomery had to briefly leave the game after being upended near the line of scrimmage and coming down directly on his head and neck. Thankfully, after a trip to the locker room, he was deemed fit to play and returned for the rest of the game.

The Bears appeared to ice the game in the fourth quarter when Eddie Jackson intercepted Jones and returned it 54 yards for a touchdown. However, Jackson was called for offensive pass interference, and New York stayed alive.

The Giants had the ball at the Bears' 10-yard line with a chance to steal a win, but Jackson atoned for his earlier penalty and broke up the pass intended for Golden Tate to seal the Bears' win.
