This Tweet sums up Bears-Carson Wentz trade rumors perfectly

Well, where there is smoke there is fire... and it seems like the Chicago Bears are legitimately involved in trade discussions with the Eagles for Carson Wentz.

After some wild Twitter speculation Friday, and reports throughout Saturday that the trade is coming closer to fruition, we got legitimate reports that the Bears were involved.

Now, keep in mind the Bears are searching for a quarterback because general manager Ryan Pace selected Mitch Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson in the 2017 NFL Draft. Not to mention the money given to Mike Glennon (also in 2017) and the trade for Nick Foles last offseason.

Fans were ready to show Pace the door after a dismal 2020 season and multiple notable whiffs at finding a quarterback, but instead he gets a chance at finding the franchise quarterback again.

And Deshaun Watson to be traded out of Houston giving Pace the ultimate do over, but yet its Wentz they're linked to.

Which brings us to this Tweet, which sums up this tragic situation perfectly.

Ugh.

"[Pace and Nagy] were provided one more year by ownership to prove themselves. It would take a lot of nerve to bet your last chance Carson Wentz coming off his 2020 season," NFL reporter Ed Werder tweeted.

And isn't that the truth.
