Eddie Jackson cereal coming to Chicago this fall

Eddie Jackson will join the ranks of Chicago athletes with their own cereal brands this fall. On Tuesday afternoon, the Bears’ star safety announced his very own breakfast cereal will hit the shelves at Mariano’s later this year.

Without a name attached to his cereal yet, we’re left to guess what his brand will be called. Bo Jacks? Pick-6 O’s? Ball Hawkin’ Crisp?

Whatever the name, proceeds from Jackson’s cereal will benefit his charity, Remain to Reach Foundation. According to the foundation's website, Remain to Reach “aims to inspire and provide resources to at-risk youth who have found themselves in trouble with the law at a young age.”

“I grew up in a challenging situation, and I saw many friends go through unimaginable things,” Jackson said in a statement on the foundation’s website. “I feel blessed to have ended up where I am today – in the NFL – but that is not the story for so many kids who grow up in at-risk situations. Through Remain to Reach I hope to connect with as many of those kids as possible, and remind them that there is hope and that they have to make the most of their second chances.

“What are we doing to reach these youth who have already been incarcerated? How are we helping them get back on the right track? How can we ensure they have the resources they need to finish their education, further their education, or begin meaningful jobs and become contributing members of their communities?”
