Bears have most players in NFL's Top 50 best-selling merchandise

The excitement and optimism for the 2019 Bears is reflected in the spending habits of the team’s fanbase.

With Super Bowl on Chicago’s mind, fans are literally buying in on the stars on the field.

The NFL Players Association released the list of the highest NFL player sales from March 1 to May 31, and the Bears lead the league with four players in the Top 50.

The list doesn’t give its criteria, so it’s unclear whether it measures the highest dollar amount or the most total number of transactions. Either way, Khalil Mack leads the team at No. 3, the highest-ranking defensive player in the NFL and the only one in the Top 10.

Mitchell Trubisky just misses the Top 10 at No. 11, coming in ahead of other young quarterbacks like Deshaun Watson (12), Carson Wentz (13) and Dak Prescott (19).

In somewhat of a surprise, Tarik Cohen slots in at No. 37, just three spots below Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley.

Roquan Smith at No. 46 rounds out the group for the Bears. He’s the highest inside linebacker of the group, just ahead of fellow 2018 first-round pick Leighton Vander Esch of the Dallas Cowboys. Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner didn’t crack the Top 50 this spring.
