Bears likely won't be heading to London next season

The Bears have played in London twice, but it doesn’t look like they will be making a third trip in 2020.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, which will host the Bears in 2020, have two home games at Wembley Stadium next season. They announced that the Bears won’t be one of them though.

The Jaguars announced on Tuesday that they will be playing the two London games on back-to-back weeks. The opponents still aren’t known, but in giving details about their six actual home games in Florida, they said the Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers will play in Jacksonville.

As two of the bigger draws in the NFL, the Bears and Steelers are relative marquee games on the Jaguars’ home slate so it makes sense to promote that they will actually be coming to Jacksonville.

The Bears do still technically have a chance to play in London in 2020. The Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins are confirmed to be the two “hosts” of the other London games, which will take place in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (The Bears lost to the Raiders at Tottenham’s stadium this past season).

The Bears are scheduled to make a trip to the Falcons in 2020. The Falcons will not play a divisional foe in the international game, which means the Bears are one of five opponents that could play the Falcons in London.

However, Falcons owner Arthur Blank said in a recent interview that he thinks they’re playing the Denver Broncos. That seems like something the owner of a team would know so that seems like a pretty good source to listen to on this one.
