Mitch Trubisky injured his shoulder in play against Saints

Welp. The bizarreness of 2020 continues.

Former Bears starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky, who was benched for Nick Foles earlier this season, came in for one play against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8.

It was a run-pass option, that Trubisky kept and ran to the left for a three-yard gain.

And he injured his right shoulder on the play. His throwing shoulder.

Trubisky has previously injured his non-throwing shoulder in 2019, but obviously his throwing shoulder is a whole different situation.

For fans calling for Trubisky to play or start while Foles struggles behind an offensive line that's riddle with injuries of their own, they're going to have to wait.

Trubisky is being evaluated to understand the extent of his injury, but NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that there is some concern "there is some significant structural issues in his throwing shoulder."
