Bears, Packers and Vikings all have same odds to win NFC North

Las Vegas seems to be doubting the sustainability of the Bears success.

It might just be a reflection of the public wagering against Mitchell Trubisky and company, but the odds at SuperBook shifted away from Chicago over the last few months, without any significant changes in the NFC North landscape.

As of Monday, the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings have the same odds to win the division as the Bears.

The Packers and Vikings odds haven’t moved from where they opened back in March, but the Bears went from the favorites at 8/5 down to the rest of the group at 2/1.

They haven’t had any significant injuries this offseason, and none of the teams made any blockbuster transactions.

Mathematically, the change in odds is negligible, but it sends a message of a truly even NFC North race, eight months after Minnesota and Green Bay failed to reach nine wins.

The national perception of doubt should be motivating for Matt Nagy’s locker room that’s looking for every reason to stay hungry.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is just like you, ready to drag the Bears' offense and kicker at a moment's notice

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is just like you, ready to drag the Bears' offense and kicker at a moment's notice

Lori Lightfoot is OVER it.

Chicago's mayor was doing press at an event and was asked whether she'd be watching the Bears with her mom – a big football fan – at Thanksgiving, and turns out that's a big ol' maybe:

yeeeesh. I don't know a better way to convey the sound of gritting teeth, but that's what's happening. But also she's not wrong? The offense has been bad and Piñeiro's slump is getting more discouraging by the game. But jeez Lori cut them some slack! Eddy Piñeiro's practicing at Soldier Field!!! Without a police escort!

I actually feel bad for Piñeiro here. How would 24-year-old you react to being dragged in a televised press conference by the mayor of America's third-largest city? I don't think Lenny Curry (Jacksonville's mayor, I promise, you don't need to look it up) is out there giving Josh Lambo (Jacksonville's kicker, I promise, you don't need to look it up) a hard time. Kicking in Chicago is a unique experience in that it's just like being the quarterback of any other NFL team but without any of the pay or job security.

Thank god they're playing the Giants this weekend.
