Bears RB Tarik Cohen disappointed by low Madden 21 ratings for catching

Tarik Cohen is not happy with his Madden 21 ratings. The Bears posted a video of Cohen listing his grievances with his rating on their Instagram page on Tuesday.

It’s understandable since Cohen will launch rated 77-overall, a big drop from last year’s Madden installment when he launched as an 85.

So what’s going into his low rating this year?

For starters, his catch rating is a 73.

“They didn’t see the backflip catches?” Cohen said. “That’s what a 73 gets you now? Do you know how many people are doing backflip catches?

In case the good people of EA are reading this, and in fact have not seen Cohen doing backflip catches, here ya go:

“They’re doing me dirty with the catching, that’s my biggest disappointment. That and the short route running.”

Cohen’s SRR rating sits at 75, which is tied for fifth on the team with Cordarrelle Patterson.

“That’s my game,” Cohen said. “Anybody who knows Tarik Cohen knows it’s catching and short route running.

“Why’d they have to do my catching like that? I’m still hot about that.”

No tea, no shade towards Cohen, but it may have something to do with those six drops in 2019, which tied for fourth-most in the league.

But Cohen still wasn’t done dishing on his catch and SRR ratings.

“I had the toe-tap against the Rams in LA!”

That was objectively an impressive touchdown catch. If Cohen can put a few more of those on tape this season, maybe his catch rating will go back up where he wants it.
