The Chicago Bears waived undrafted free agent receiver Matt Fleming on Thursday to make room on the roster for Arena League Rookie of the Year, Malachi Jones.
Jones, 24, had 77 receptions for 1,156 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Albany Empire in 2018.
Listed at 6'3 and 215 pounds, Jones adds another big body to a Bears receiver group that already includes plus-sized pass catchers Allen Robinson, Kevin White and Javon Wims.

Jones played his collegiate ball in the FCS ranks for Appalachian State. His final college season came in 2015 when he recorded 25 catches for 463 yards and three touchdowns. Jones ran a 4.53 40-yard dash at his pro day in 2016
