Bears vs. Broncos: Will Week 2 be a get-right game for Chicago?

The best way for any team to move past a difficult loss is to come back with a convincing win the following week. The Chicago Bears have an opportunity to do that Sunday against the 0-1 Denver Broncos in a game that NFL Network's Kyle Brandt described as a get right week for Matt Nagy, Mitch Trubisky and the rest of the Bears offense.

"I think Week 1 is a liar, and I think Week 2 is a get right week," said Brandt, "and I think it's going to be a get right week for the Chicago Bears."

It better be. The Broncos looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL against the Raiders Monday night, and if Chicago doesn't win, in convincing fashion, questions will begin about whether this squad is even playoff-worthy in 2019.

"There's a lot of toys that Matt Nagy has that he didn't really use in Week 1. I'm talking the big ones, a Tarik Cohen pass, a Cordarrelle Patterson double reverse," Brandt said. "With Vic Fangio knowing Trubisky, knowing the personnel, you can't just run out there with your standard offense. You need to go to the tricks this week, and I think the Bears get right big time."

The chess match between Nagy and Fangio will be one of the better storylines to monitor throughout the game, but it's not just about fooling the former Bears defensive coordinator with trick plays. Nagy has to commit to the run game in order to slow Denver's lethal duo of pass rushers, Von Miller and Bradley Chubb.

It may come down to a heavier workload for David Montgomery, which Bears fans (and fantasy owners) will welcome with open arms.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CST, Sunday, Sept. 15.
