Cordarrelle Patterson: ‘I stand with Coach Nagy forever'

Matt Nagy has come under fire from fans and media alike after another embarrassing loss dropped the Bears record to 5-5 on the season. But all of that noise is coming from outside the locker room, and at least one player inside the clubhouse has now publicly defended his head coach.

While it may not seem like much on the surface, a sign like this could indicate that the team hasn’t given up on the season after a four-game losing stream. It may seem silly to even bring up giving up hope with six weeks to go-- especially considering two extra teams will qualify for the playoffs this season-- but Bears Twitter can be a dark place, and it seems like many fans gave up after Monday Night.

Fact of the matter is, there is still time for the Bears to get back on track. Yes, they have two tough matchups against the Packers still left on their schedule, but they will also face some teams with terrible records, like the Texans and Jaguars.

Former Bears coach Dave Wannstedt’s advice he shared on Football Aftershow rings true now, more than ever: “You can lose games, you just can’t lose the locker room.”

Lucky for Nagy, it appears he hasn’t lost the Bears locker room just yet.
