After hitting three field goals to keep the Bears in the Wild Card match up against the Eagles, kicker Cody Parkey missed a game-winning field goal in the final seconds of the game.
And like he had done at least five times this season, Parkey doinked it on the uprights to cost the Bears a game against the Rams in the Divisional round.
While Bears fans were upset and boo'd Parkey as he left the field, changing his Wikipedia page and even resurfacing a GoFundMe campaign to buyout his contract, there were some people who are happy with Parkey.
Namely defensive end Brandon Graham.
Thank u, Cody. pic.twitter.com/xYBIkdgvRy— NBC Sports Philadelphia (@NBCSPhilly) January 7, 2019
"I'm glad. Thank you Cody. I appreciate you Cody," Graham told a reporter as he walked off the field to celebrate.
That stings, especially considering the two were teammates in Philadelphia.
But the Bears and Parkey are going to need to fix this in-house. Simply cutting Parkey isn't an option because it would add over $5 million in dead cap money while taking just over $4 million off the books, saving no cap space in the process.
