Eddie Jackson, Kyle Fuller make PFF Team of the Week for Week 9

The Bears secondary got its groove back against the Buffalo Bills. Nathan Peterman proved to be just what the doctor ordered as Chicago forced four turnovers and started to look like the defense they showed in the first four games.

The Pro Football Focus grades on that side of the ball were high for most of the starters, but Eddie Jackson and Kyle Fuller took the top marks and earned spots on PFF’s Team of the Week for Week 9.

Jackson’s forced fumble and return for a touchdown was obviously the biggest reason for his grade, but in coverage he allowed three catches for only four combined yards.

Fuller was lock down in coverage, despite Peterman targeting him eight times. The Bears No. 1 cornerback allowed only one catch for zero yards to go with his interception and two PDs — good for a 0.0 passer rating when targeted.

For comparison, throwing the ball away on every play would give the quarterback a 39.6 passer rating.

Adrian Amos Jr. fell just short of making the team of the week with a 90.8 overall grade. He also had an interception and two PDs while allowing three catches for 14 yards.

Offensively, Jordan Howard led the way with a 73.5 overall grade, which made him the 10th highest-graded running back of the week. He finished with only 47 rushing yards, but 41 of them came after contact by a defender.
